Washington County Mugshot Status

Washington County Mugshot Law
Illinois law does not say that every Washington County Jail mugshot must be posted online. It says specified arrest information held by state or local criminal justice agencies must be furnished within the statutory time frame, subject to exemptions. Under 5 ILCS 140/2.15, that arrest information includes identifying information, including a photograph when and if available, charges, arrest time and location, arresting agency, and custody timing when the arrested person is incarcerated.

The social-media rule is narrow but important. It is not a blanket ban on all booking-photo release, and it is not proof that a photo must be posted. It limits agency publication on social networking websites for lower-level offense categories unless the post helps locate a missing person, fugitive, person of interest, or wanted person for a more serious crime.
Request Washington County Mugshots

IDOC Photos vs County Mugshots
